My little granddaughter has just arrived in Cork to the world.
Perhaps it is indeed Union and Cork City Fan!
In any case, I will visit there again and then I look at the odd game of City. Will be interesting.

Have been to yesterday's Cork away game in Dublin. Resident Bohemians FC (BFC ) Dublin deservedly won the match 1-0 and the only comfort on Cork's side were its supporters...
Anyway, the match was no great pleasure; but most interesting was the 'Bohs' club itself: It is owned completely by its members! -
I hope Derry will qualify to Europe again this season... because they're not allowed to start in europe in 2012/2013 , but they were 3rd last Season... was a punishment some years ago...

Cork City are the same. We (The supporters) own Cork City FC 100%
In 2009 the club went bankrupt and we (The supporters) started up again.
We now own the club and last season we won the 1st division to get promoted to the top league.ZitatCork City Foras Co-op have wasted no time getting the ball rolling for life in the First Division of the League of Ireland.
Less than 24 hours after Cork City FC were wound up in the High Court, the supporter-owned FORAS club have made two appointments to set up the structures required to run a League of Ireland football club.
Kevin Mullen has been appointed as the club’s General Manager to oversee the day-to-day running of the club, with an emphasis on implementing the club’s budget and maximising all available revenue streams.
Mullen has over a decade of experience of working in professional football, including a number of years service to Cork City FC as Operations Manager and Head of Commercial under the various ownerships.
And Éanna Buckley has been appointed as Club Administrator to assist Mullen in preparing the club for the 2010 season.
Buckley’s role will focus on the club’s Season Ticket programme (details of which will be announced shortly), the matchday programme, media, public relations, promoting the club around the city & county, team and supporter travel arrangements and other administrative matters.
Commenting on the appointments, Chairman John O’Sullivan said: ‘I am delighted that Kevin has agreed to come on board as we look forward to a fresh start. Kevin has an excellent working knowledge of the game and his appointment will be a huge asset as we look to establish ourselves.’
He added: ‘Éanna has been involved with Cork City for many years, both as a supporter and, more recently, in a professional capacity. His knowledge of the club at every level will be of great benefit to us, and the club is delighted to have him working with us.
‘As a club owned by the supporters, we will have a very strong community ethos and we look forward to working with everyone concerned to build a strong club that Cork can be proud of, founded on the passion of our supporters.’
ZitatBetween 2008 and 2010 however, the club suffered financial hardships and management controversy and entered a period of examinership. Ultimately the club's holding company, Cork City Investments FC Ltd, was wound up by the courts. Club fans however were awarded a licence for a club under the name Cork City FORAS Co-op and entered a team in the next First Division season. The club subsequently re-acquired rights to the name "Cork City Football Club" from the liquidators of Cork City Investments FC Ltd. Fans highlight the continuity of Cork City FC during this period as the former holding company Cork City Investments Fc Ltd was still in existence during its liquidation period when the name and intellectual property were purchased, and the underage teams continued to exist under the name while owned and funded by the fans.[
